The photo coordinator captures, curates and manages the photography and imagery of the event. The position works as part of the marketing and communications team.
Responsibilities
Before the event
- Coordinate with marketing and communications team to create an event photo capture list.
- Promote the conference through personal social media and professional networks.
During the event
- Assist with conference setup.
- Attend all committee meetings.
- Take photos throughout the entire event, from setup through event production to closure/teardown.
- Ensure best practices around privacy, copyright, inclusion, etc. are followed while images are being taken.
- Coordinate photography volunteers (if needed) to ensure photo list coverage.
- Deliver finished images to support communication efforts, including social media.
After the event
- Curate images and ensure that all files are cleaned, tagged, archived within the conference image repository for future reference.
Qualifications
Required
- Membership in the association, which can be fulfilled at application. (Free general membership for higher education professionals would meet this requirement.)
- Proven photography skills, for both print and digital end purposes.
- Ability to manage photo assets.
Preferred
- Experience with photo editing software.
- Ability to work with project management/team communication platforms such as Slack, Clickup, etc.
- Google Drive proficiency.
Estimated time commitment
- As a member of the planning committee, this position is expected to virtually attend monthly meetings
- The time commitment for committee work varies, with a minimum of 1-2 hours per month and a peak commitment being carried out through attendance at the event.
Length of appointment
Up to 12 months.

Conference attendance
Event attendance is required. Event registration is waived for this position.
