Membership Committee: Marketing Support

Digital Collegium strives to recruit new members — and keep existing members informed of benefits and services. This position helps fulfill this need by implementing email and social campaigns, updating the website and developing publications.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Membership Committee chair and members to determine the best marketing and communication activities to help achieve Digital Collegium goals.
  • Implements email and social media campaigns, edits the membership website and develops printed publications — with support from designers, video editors and writers.
  • Contributes to the editorial content calendar as a way to coordinate with other committees.
  • Submit membership content for the monthly Digital Collegium newsletter.
  • Attend all committee meetings and provide insight into how best the committee can collaborate to promote opportunities and initiatives for Digital Collegium.
  • Serve as a liaison to the Marketing and Communications Committee and actively attend their meetings.
  • Facilitate an environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.

Qualifications

Required

  • Membership in Digital Collegium, which can be fulfilled at application. (Free general membership for higher education professionals would meet this requirement.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience as a marketing, social media, or communications coordinator for an organization or business.
  • Understanding of organizational branding and how best to communicate ideas and initiatives.
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines.

Preferred

  • Work experience in a marketing, communications, or public relations environment.
  • Ability to produce content, strategies and social media posts.
  • Ability to work with project management/team communication platforms such as Slack, Clickup, etc.
  • Google Drive proficiency.
  • Proficiency with email marketing software or CRM systems.

Estimated time commitment

  • Volunteers should attend monthly virtual committee meetings.
  • The time commitment for this position varies from 4-8 hours per month.

Length of appointment

2 years, with option to renew for up to 3 consecutive terms

Conference attendance

Annual/regional conference attendance isn’t required/expected. Conference registration isn’t waived for this position.
