HighEdWeb operates a job board where members can post employment and volunteer opportunities. This provides a critical service to colleges and universities seeking qualified applicants.
Responsibilities
- Review and edit employment postings submitted through the board for formatting, accuracy and completeness.
- Support anyone needing help understanding or using the job board.
- Recommend and update the job board with content, structure or features that would enhance its value to the community.
- Maintain and promote documentation about the job board.
- Work with the Marketing and Communications Committee to implement ideas to promote the job board and its postings.
- Work with the operations director to automate and maintain the sharing of job postings on social media, Slack and elsewhere.
- Support the other efforts of the Membership Committee as time allows.
- Facilitate an environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
Qualifications
Required
- Membership in the association, which can be fulfilled at application. (Free general membership for higher education professionals would meet this requirement.)
- Knowledge and experience with the WordPress backend and plugins
- Excellent written communication skills
- Ability and time to process postings within two business days of submission
Preferred
- Expertise with the WPJob Manager plugin
- Understanding of AP Style and semantic markup
- Experience as a job seeker or hiring manager
Estimated time commitment
- Volunteers should be available for monthly committee meetings.
- The time commitment for this position varies from 2-4 hours per month.
Length of appointment
2 years, with option to renew for up to 3 consecutive terms

Conference attendance
Annual/regional conference attendance isn’t required/expected. Conference registration isn’t waived for this position.
