The Academy Alumni Relations Coordinator is responsible for creating an alumni outreach plan and coordinating alumni communications. They work with the academy chairs and other volunteers to identify alumni relations goals and plan alumni events.
General responsibilities
- Participate in planning meetings as requested.
- Maintain a list or database of alumni contact information.
- Develop opportunities for alumni participation and acknowledgement with the conferences and beyond.
- Write or oversee creation of alumni success stories.
- Coordinate with Academy marketing coordinator to write and schedule alumni social media content.
- Coordinate with Academy chairs to plan events, volunteer opportunities and benefits for alumni.
- Send email outreach campaigns to alumni.
- Identify alumni influencers and content collaboration opportunities.
- Plan and coordinate the alumni reunion event at the Annual Conference.
- Review success of alumni relations impacts on Academy and other event attendance or experience, and report on suggestions for the following year.
At the Annual Conference
- Coordinate the alumni reunion reception.
- Acknowledge alumni in attendance at the Annual Conference.
Qualifications
Required
- Membership in Digital Collegium, which can be fulfilled at application. (Free general membership for higher education professionals would meet this requirement.)
- Strong writing ability, especially for digital publication
Preferred
- Ability to engage diverse networks and build relationships.
- Knowledge of content strategy, including how to plan, manage and execute across various marketing channels.
- Ability to work with project management/team communication platforms such as Slack, Clickup, etc.
- Google Drive proficiency.
- Graduate of a Digital Collegium Academy.
Estimated time commitment
- This position is expected to virtually attend monthly meetings.
- The time commitment for committee work varies, with a minimum of 4-5 hours per month and a peak commitment of 10 hrs/month in October.
Length of appointment
One Academies planning and deployment season (usually 18-24 months), with option to renew

Conference attendance
Annual Conference attendance is required, and registration is waived for this position. Attendance is not required (and registration is not waived) at other events, including the Academies.
