The Annual Conference Online Engagement Coordinator works as part of the Conference Committee, on the Attendee Experience team and plans conference social and networking events (both throughout the working and evening hours of the conference) for online conference attendees.
General responsibilities
- Plan and organize appropriate networking events during conference days.
- Coordinate with the operations director for all financial transactions and contracts.
- Monitor online communication channels, including Slack, during the conference and answer attendees’ questions.
- Work with the marketing and communications team to develop messaging for online conference attendees.
- Work with the safety, inclusion and accessibility team to ensure that the online experience is accessible.
- Attend all committee meetings.
- Facilitate an environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
- Promote the conference through personal social media and professional networks.
Qualifications
Required
- Proficiency in social and professional event planning.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Membership in Digital Collegium (including free general membership), which can be fulfilled at application.
- Ability to project manage and adhere to strict deadlines.
- Attention to detail and ability to self-manage multiple responsibilities.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
Preferred
- Ability to manage expectations of multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to work with project management/team communication platforms such as Slack, Clickup, etc.
- Google Drive proficiency.
Estimated time commitment
- The Online Engagement Coordinator is expected to virtually attend scheduled Conference Committee and other scheduled team meetings.
- The time commitment for committee work varies, with a minimum of 3 hours per month and a peak commitment of 20 hours per month (attendance at the Annual Conference notwithstanding).
Length of appointment
One Annual Conference season (usually November – November)

Conference attendance
Attendance at the online annual conference is required. Online registration for the conference is waived for this position.
