The Video Coordinator edits and captions videos. This role works closely with the program chair, program vice chair and the platform coordinator.
Responsibilities
General
- Facilitate an environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
Before the summit
- Edit and caption videos created for marketing purposes.
- Edit video presentations submitted by presenters for the pre-recorded conference sessions.
- Work with the committee to ensure they know when the video is ready to be captioned.
- Work with program chair to develop and share guidance with presenters on creating their session video.
- Collaborate with the platform coordinator to ensure videos are posted to the event management platform.
- Recruit volunteers to help edit videos, as needed.
- Attend all committee meetings (optional)
During the summit
- Be available to assist with any video issues that may occur during the conference (optional)
Qualifications
Required
- Membership in the association, which can be fulfilled at application. (Free general membership for higher education professionals would meet this requirement.)
- Strong organization, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to satisfactorily complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Skilled at editing and posting video and audio.
Estimated time commitment
- As a member of the planning committee, this position may attend monthly online meetings.
- The time commitment for committee work varies, with a minimum of 1-2 hours per month and a peak commitment of 1 hour/day prior to the event.
Length of appointment
Up to 12 months with the option to renew for a subsequent term
