Description
Ensuring digital accessibility at a university or college is an all-hands-on-deck endeavor that requires faculty, staff and administrators to be aware of and versed in foundational accessibility principles and practices. Students, too, play a role in helping to shift campus culture.
The 8-Day Web Accessibility Challenge, held by UAlbany’s Web Services in January 2022, provided an opportunity to begin this work in a way that was both measurable and engaging.
Our synchronous, email-delivered training program aims to improve participants’ confidence and skill in foundational accessibility principles, increase the campus community’s awareness of inequities and interest in accessibility, and improve the accessibility of campus-created media, including websites, emails, social media, documents, etc. Learn how to replicate our success on your campus during this informative presentation.
Learning outcomes
Audience members will leave with a road map for creating and providing asynchronous, email-delivered accessibility training programs on their own campus, using their existing staff and resources.
