Best of both worlds: Syncing data between systems

We’ll be looking at the problem of integrating third-party services with the content management system of your choosing, addressing the way to architect a solution allowing data to be administered from a third party but seamlessly integrating a CMS.

The case study will be Notre Dame’s new careers.nd.edu site. With its launch, Human Resources fully manages its job openings and recruitment through Smart Recruiter, a third-party one-stop shop for talent acquisition.

Leveraging Smart Recruiters APIs and our CMS (a homegrown system) platform, we were able to provide almost real-time updates on our site.

Lastly, we will quickly review the next request for integration that we received from dining.nd.edu and how the same design was used to quickly get the data between the service and website synced (this time Google Calendars).
