Surviving the strategy trail: Overcoming challenges to reach your project destination

You know where you want to go. You’ve got a strategy (or inherited one). But — you’re not getting there. Things are stalled. Or they aren’t going in the right direction. Or you’re not going to hit your launch date. How do you get back on track? This session will apply the lessons we’ve learned on the Oregon Trail — the video game, not the actual trail — to give you ways to overcome obstacles and get back on track: Supplies: Making sure you have the resources you need. Weather: Persisting through organizational climate changes. Health: Helping people understand their role and recommit to goals and strategy. Route: (Re)evaluating your strategy and remaining flexible. Using scenarios from higher ed digital projects, strategists Mike Powers and Alaina Wiens will guide you down the strategy trail, leaving you reenergized to make progress toward your next strategic milestone.
