Digital access is foundational to the diversity, equity and inclusion goals of any institution. If our digital content isn’t accessible, we are shutting out a significant portion of our audience. However, not everyone within our organization may know what digital accessibility is or how to effectively implement it. How can we help ensure that content and communications put out by our institutions are accessible? By implementing the RAMPS framework, we can use simple tactics to encourage and support campus personnel to remove potential barriers. RAMPS stands for request, amplify, model, prioritize and support. In this discussion, Kate DeForest will introduce how the State University of New York at Oswego uses RAMPS as a framework for cultivating a culture of access. She will share stories and ideas of how to easily integrate these principles into everyday interactions and workflows, thereby boosting accessibility awareness with minimal effort.
