ElasticPress ships with tons of powerful features that a lot of WordPress developers never touch. In this session, we’ll dig into some of the filters, hooks, and APIs that let you teach Elasticsearch what your content actually means — not just what it says.
Using my Community + Code podcast site as a live example, we’ll walk through: enriching the sparse episode posts by fetching and indexing full episode transcripts at sync time, tuning Elasticsearch’s More Like This query to drive transcript-aware related content and the custom Gutenberg block that exposes those relationships in the editor and we’ll look at customizing the display of search results using Yoast SEO metadata.
You’ll leave with a glimpse into how to use ElasticPress and Elasticsearch for much more than just a more powerful search tool for WordPress.
