PDFs have been a thorn in your side for a long time. Isn’t it time they get what they’ve got coming? Get a quick review of why PDFs are so, so wrong, covering accessibility and other equity issues, as well as some potential workarounds. Then we’ll go over a case study of Harper College’s multi-year project to identify and take down PDFs.
You’ll see some of the resources used to execute the project — such as communications, documentation, a tracking spreadsheet, a dashboard in Looker Studio, examples of different types of web pages used to replace PDFs — as we approach Zero Day, when we shut off the ability for end-users to upload PDFs for good.
