This session is designed for new managers or those who are interested in leading a team of their own. Additionally, senior managers looking to support new managers could find benefit. The first year in a formal leadership role is the hardest, but it is one of the most important. Some of the challenges those new in leadership roles face include navigating conflict, defining your leadership path, managing people and tasks, and balancing expectations from employees and supervisors. As a newer manager, Carrie Phillips faced these struggles when she was named to a formal leadership role. And like most, she had some successes and failures. In this session, she’ll candidly share some lessons she learned to help others who are interested in more formal leadership roles. This session will offer practical takeaways to help new managers or those interested in formal leadership roles.
