Improving Web Accessibility: Lessons Learned From an OCR Investigation

Presenters

Andrew Maddox — Baylor University

Description

Everyone dreads the prospect of receiving a letter from the Office of Civil Rights informing you that your website is under investigation for Section 504 violations. Accessibility guidelines are far-ranging and often difficult to implement across tens of thousands of pages and documents maintained by countless content managers. In this session, you’ll hear some of what the web team at Baylor University learned during a Section 504 investigation, and you’ll leave with an understanding of high-priority places and techniques to make significant, practical improvements to your web environment.
